27 Weeks: Let the projects begin!

Happy 27 weeks!  Things are going really well and I'm feeling great.  We are transitioning into the third and final trimester.  This has been a very busy weekend, so this post is a day late, but let's get things started with an update on baby:

Baby Rials is the size of a rutabaga.  What is a rutabaga you ask?  Well, that's why I've included the picture below:

The baby has started to breath (amniotic fluid), practicing inhaling and exhaling to develop the lungs.

I'm feeling really good, trying to stay away from spicy foods because the heartburn is unreal!  Sitting up from a horizontal position is definitely getting more difficult.  I'm feeling more and more like a turtle trapped on it's back shell.  Maternity pictures are coming up and our wonderful and talented friend Heather will be taking them for us.  We also have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, then I think we'll switch from once a month Dr. visit's to twice a month.

Jeremy has a great work schedule where if he takes one day off work when there's a holiday on Monday, he'll get nearly a week off.  So he decided he'd start working on the nursery and a few other projects we had on our to-do list.  We went to Home Depot to get some paint for the nursery, and like we do every time we go in there, we decided to look at tile for the kitchen back splash.  I have champagne taste on a beer budget, so we never buy anything because the tile I always am drawn toward is $15/sq foot.  Well we found this amazing tile on clearance for $3.70/sq ft.  Jeremy had to go to 4 or 5 different stores to get enough tile, but we absolutely love how it turned out.  I'll take a final after picture when it's all done, there are a few minor details to conclude.

We also have started on the nursery.  It was previously our guest bedroom, but that moved into the office/hobby room.  It was a major task to get the office organized, let me tell ya!  We had a ridiculous amount of paper work that had to be sorted and shredded, but Jeremy finally got all the furniture moved out of the office.  Here are a few before pictures of what the nursery looks like:

 A few paint sample and
the start of our new closet organization system

That's it for this week.  We registered today, but more on how that went on the next post.

  1. I'm like you and had to turn my craft room into the nursery. It was good to get all that stuff cleaned up and organized! An early spring cleaning, if you will! Love the progress on the nursery *from week 29)!
