25 Weeks: Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  Technically I'm 26 weeks right now, but gotta get this post in for the past week.  As you can see, we're at 25 weeks right now and have hit less than 100 days until our due date!  Can you believe it?!?!

Baby is the size of cauliflower, measuring in at 13.6-14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5-2.5 pounds.  Growing growing!  The baby now knows which way is up and down as the sense of equilibrium has developed.  Uterus is the size of a soccer ball...what?! Haha that's huge!  I've read that Braxton-Hicks contractions can start soon, but I haven't felt any, that I know of anyway.

Sleep is going really well since The Bump Nest has come into my life (thank you Melissa!!)  But while we were out of town in Flagstaff over the weekend, I had terrible heartburn at night, no fun!  We were eating out more, obviously, and much richer food then I'm used to.  Haven't had any sense then.

Our trip to Flagstaff is an annual trip that we take every year.  We are usually up there on New Years Eve to watch the pine cone drop from  the Weatherford Hotel, but this year and last year the holiday fell on a weekday, making taking the time off more difficult.  So, we pushed our trip back a few days, going up the weekend of New Years.  This year my parents came with us, which made for a very fun trip.  This is actually our two year anniversary from when Jeremy proposed.

We started the trip off with a tour of NAU, my dad's alma mater.  He took us to the place where his dorm building once stood, where some of his classes were, and the dorms his friends lived in.  It was great to see him go back in time, and how happy those memories made him.  He had a great time taking us around and telling us stories of his time there.
Where'd my dorm go?!

Love this picture with the peaks in the background

Earlier I nearly hit Jeremy in the face with a snow ball, so he found this one to throw at me!
Saturday we took a day trip to Sunset Crater Volcano, which erupted nearly 900 years ago, and Wupatki National Monument which has ancient pueblo ruins.  We decided to do this day tour because there was no snow in Flagstaff!  We usually go to Flagstaff Nordic Center where we cross country ski, or this year I was going to try snowshoeing, but it was closed due to the lack of snow.  We were definitely disappointed, but knew there would be snow at the crater.  It was beautiful, but once we got to the ruins, the winds really picked up.

We had a great time with my parents, had some AMAZING food, and brought back some wonderful memories.  A couple of our favorite places to eat are Criollo Latin Kitchen and Tinderbox.  We stayed at the Drury Inn and would highly recommend it.  The rooms were nice, and we got free breakfast, happy hour food and 3 free drinks each every evening!  Well worth it.

That's it for now, see you next week!
